I Blame The Politicians

The clock radio in our house is set on CBC. It's often interesting in the morning, but every time there's an election, it gets pretty tedious to listen to. So does everything else, for that matter - the Sun websites get all campy and annoying, and every time I see "Iggy" or "Harper", I get more annoyed.

Anyway, I'm getting off topic here. Since CBC is getting tedious to listen to, I'm not paying as much attention in the morning as I should be. As a result, when I was about 1/3 of the way to work this morning, I couldn't help but wonder why my hands were burning.

Oh, wait - they weren't burning, they were FREEZING.

It looked deceptively pleasant through the window this morning, and while I knew it was supposed to cool down a bit, I was expecting something like +1 or +3C. Not -9C, yikes.

Other than my hands feeling like they were going to fall off and my visor freezing shut (I'd just rinsed it this morning to clean it off), the ride was great. I know I've said it about a dozen times already, but that new battery makes a heck of a difference when it's cold. I worked late this evening, and even after sitting outside all day and after the sun started to set, the KLR still cranked over and started like a charm.

Tomorrow I will make sure to listen to the radio and find out if I need to put on my woolies before hitting the road.

Safe riding!
