Riding The Perimeter...

Life's been pretty hectic lately, but I had a bit of time right after work today and took advantage of it by riding straight to the Perimeter and riding it all the way around the city before heading for home.

It the first time this year that the KLR and I had been at highway speeds for more than ten minutes, and it sure felt good to get out. The sky was nice and sunny and it was around +25C. There was a little bit of wind, but just enough to keep things interesting and not be dangerous.

I saw lots of other people riding two-wheeled contraptions today, too - there were a bunch of other motorcycles out there (lots of waving, too), and a few bicycles (although I don't envy them for riding a bicycle on the Perimeter during rush hour).

The traffic was heavy almost the entire way, but it flowed very well and nobody was acting impatient or like they were more important than anyone else. It was really very pleasant.

Of course, now that the air and ground are warming up, riding by the dump isn't quite as stink-free as it used to be, but that's part of what makes riding interesting for me.

At one point near the dump, there was a bunch of cardboard lying on the road and the trucks kept kicking it up. Got to practice swerving within my lane!

It felt great to go for more than just the regular commute... I need to find time to do more riding, maybe take a run out to Lockport again soon!

Safe riding!
